Valletta Malta

Valletta is the new capital of Malta built after the Great Seige of Malta by the Ottoman Turks and is approximately 10km from Luqa airport. Valletta is a fortified town and was built using a grid layout. Built on top of a hill (Mount Sceberras) and is surrounded by harbours and the sea on three sides. It is the largest harbour city on Malta. The harbour effectively splits the town almost in half. Valletta is the main stop from the bus terminals, as all buses either head to or from Valletta, which means cross Island journeys will result in a brief stop at Valletta.
